Libraries don't run on books alone.

The Geiger English Library is entirely volunteer-powered. Every welcoming smile, every beautifully organised shelf, every children's activity, every exhibition, every event, and every book that finds its way into a reader's hands is made possible by people who generously share their time, talents, and enthusiasm.

Volunteering here isn't simply about shelving books—although if that brings you joy, we've certainly got plenty of shelves! It's about becoming part of a warm, creative, and diverse community of people who believe that libraries enrich lives.

Whether you can spare a few hours each week, help occasionally with a special event, or lend your professional skills to one of our committees, there is almost certainly a place for you.

Behind the Scenes
Not every volunteer role happens during library opening hours. We also need help with:

When Can I Volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities are available Sunday through Friday.

Some roles take place during our public opening hours, while others can be done at other mutually convenient times.

Whether you're available every week or just occasionally, we'd love to talk with you.
