Children's Library

During Library hours the sound of excited children’s voices comes not from the playground but from the Rachel Ben Zev Children’s Library, an integral part of the Safed English Library. Containing some 5000 books for infants to teenagers, the collection includes the most popular writers for pre-school, such as Dr. Seuss, Sesame Street, and Golden Books, and the perennial classics such as Nancy Drew and Harry Potter. Non-fiction for young as well as older readers is also very popular .
The Library is presently planning to revive the once a week story hour which held young children rapt as they sat around on cushions and small chairs, holding “live-in” teddy bears or bunnies to listen to the story.
The Children’s Library is open the same hours as the main library.
